Is the Government Trying to Ban Our Books?

"Kite Runner" to "Brave New World": Breaking Down the Newest Federal Book Bans

Reading is more than just turning a page and stepping into a story, it is an act of defiance.

A quiet, but powerful rebellion against the forces of oppression that are continuing to tighten their grip on our country. To seek knowledge, to consistently engage with new ideas and philosophies, is to challenge this.

Knowledge has always been power, and the drive to suppress it— to ban books, to control the media is perhaps the most dangerous weapon of all. Reading equips us with the ability to think, to question, to step into perspectives of others that we might otherwise never have the opportunity to do.

Reading is resistance. Never stop asking questions.

For good online second hand shopping, I recommend /thriftbooks, /bookoutlet and /pangobooks 📚 (book outlet in particular is a fun purchase!)

To keep up to date with the latest news, I will always be here to share it with you and give you recommendations, but here are some amazing orgs fighting the good fight that you should check out. 💚
